If that’s what it takes to save the world, let the world die, you say
That’s going to be quite an easy escape, wouldn’t it?
Shirking responsibility and turning a blind eye-or glasses for some
It would be so easy to give up and wait for doom
Then again, we’ll all be gone someday
What then would the generation left behind have for an inheritance?
Will the riches that some will assuage their guilty souls?
Or their renowned names save them from perdition?
Maybe the robots will teach our children to care,
Or the gadgets set an agenda
Then again, maybe we’ll learn to have faith and a hope for the future
Maybe the world would learn to love
And it wouldn’t seem such an irksome task
To fight to save the world and a future for humanity
