My First Ever Haiku

I’ll come to you whole

From the mud I’ll bloom again

None the worse for wear

A little back story: So, I woke up really late that morning and kept sleeping back due to laziness + rain = a really bad combination when you have a lot of things to do. Anyway, I finally dragged myself out of bed in the afternoon to go about my activities, then I went on instagram and saw a #haiku about the rain by @derekimagines . A few hours before that, I didn’t know what a #haiku meant but after seeing his post, I was curious and googled it, then I decided to try my hands at it and this is what I could come up with. It’s kind of a foreshadow for my book: Where the Lotus Grows

What do you guys think about it? Should I write haikus more often?

Haiku: a traditional form of Japanese poetry. Haiku poems consist of 3 lines. The first and last lines of a Haiku have 5 syllables and the middle line has 7 syllables. The lines rarely rhyme.
